While you may not be able to go full steam ahead with the same programming you do during the school year there still are some great things to do to keep in touch with your teens over the summer.  Here are a few ideas:

  • Plan a weekly "hang out".  This could be the same thing every week.  Maybe its ultimate frisbee on tuesdays followed by hitting the local coffee shop or ice cream place.  Or the weekly hang out could be a variety of things.  This week it might be hiking, next week playing ultimate frisbee, next week maybe its the rafting trip, etc...

  • Guy/Girl groups.  Summer is a great time to spend some time specifically with your guys or gals and lead them through a small group study on becoming a man or woman of God.  To pull this off you will need to recruit one of your adult leaders who is of the opposite sex to help lead the other group.

  • Summer is a great time for mission work.  Throughout the year you've provided many different experiences that have included great youth group nights, retreats, and conferences. A mission trip provides them with a different experience and comes with some incredible benefits.  Not only is serving those in need an incredible experience and opportunity but the time you spend together as a group is priceless.  While on mission you take time to serve, time to pray, time to play, and time to grow in relationship with Christ and each other.

  • Come to camp!  Currently we offer two camp experiences.  One is our Junior High Students and one is our High School Students.  Both are special and offer our youth with an opportunity to encounter Christ in a unique setting.
